2 Corinthians 5:17 “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old things have passed away, behold all things have been made new”

This verse speaks of the completed work of Christ in the believer. You ARE a new creation (notice the verse doesn’t say “you will become a new creation”).

There are a few things that don’t change though you’ve become a new creation in Christ; to name a few: your gifts, your past, and your temptations. Your gifts don’t need to be put aside; on the contrary, God put them in you for His glory. Your past cannot be changed but your future in Christ most definitely will.

You will be subject to the same temptations but when you’re in Christ, they’d be met with different outcomes!

Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me”

Living life in the body means we will experience weakness, sickness and eventually death. You may lose heart, lack courage, feel depressed or lonely. But we are to live this life by faith. This faith is not in a god who doesn’t care or is distant; no, this faith is in Jesus the Son of God who loves you and gave Himself for you.

So what changes when you experience new birth in Christ? By the grace of God, the way you analyse/think, the way you love, the way you make decision, the way you view sin, and the way you live will change!
