Everything God created in the Garden of Eden was good and perfect (Genesis 1:31) It was a world without trouble. All God ever wanted for man was to have the very best. Created in God’s image, God even gave man the ability to exercise his will. And because God loved and cared too much, He further protected man (Adam) and instructed him clearly not to eat from the one tree, the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

Despite God’s utmost provision, Adam still chose to disobey God when he allowed Eve and the serpent to persuade and manipulate him into giving in to his own desires. Adam’s sin broke his intimate fellowship with God.

Sin separates us from God because God’s holy nature cannot abide sin. God hates sin and His anger with sin eternally separates the sinner from God. But because our God is also a compassionate and merciful God, He provided a solution to the problem of sin.

Our loving Father would not that any should perish. He had in fact ordained a plan for us to escape the tragic consequences of sin—by way of sacrificing the death of His only Son Jesus Christ to atone our sins so that when we accept and believe in Him as our Saviour, we will be saved and will have a new life to spend eternally with Him!

This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in Him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life” (John 3:16)

All praise and thanks to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To God be the Glory!
