God is sovereign. He was in control in Babylon and He has been moving in history, controlling the destinies of people ever since. God is in control, over rules and removes rebellious leaders who defile Him. But He will deliver the faithful who follow Him. Daniel and his three friends were taken as captives by King Nebuchadnezzar. Their names were changed to heathen gods, but their hearts remained faithful to God.

For three years, Daniel and friends were taught the culture, religion and literature of the chaldeaus. The King appointed for them a daily provision of delicacies and wine. But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine which have been offered to idols.

Like Daniel, we must resolve to obey God. At the end of their training, Daniel and his friends were declared ten times better than all the scholars of Babylon. If our hearts are right with God, his hand will work for us.

Dare to be a Daniel. Dare to stand alone. Dare to have a purpose firm! Dare to make it known!

God bless you.
