Pastor’s Message:

God has honoured fathers with the important role as head of the family unit.

With that honour comes a responsibility—that as earthly fathers, they are to be reflections of God, our Heavenly Father!

A foundational start to reflect God the Father and exemplify His great love for all mankind is for fathers to love their children!

Following this, the Bible shares in the following scripture portions how fathers can effectively carry out their various roles:-

–As the Diligent Teacher, Deuteronomy 6:7 advises parents to teach their children in the ways of the Lord. And as the head, fathers must singularly perform this role with diligence!

–As the Strong Leader, Psalm 127:4 shares when a father is a strong leader, his children will be like arrows that fly true and will hit their mark in life. So fathers wanting to lead their kids in success-worthy ways approved by God, must themselves hone their skills till they become highly skilled and powerful archers!

–As the Faithful Provider, 1Timothy 5:8 advises all men of faith to be good providers. God has given fathers wisdom and ability to be providers for their families so all they need is to actively seek God’s will and do what is right in the Lord!

–As the Nurturing Husbandman, Ephesians 6:4 advises fathers to nurture their children in the ways of the Lord. A father is to nourish his children with wholesome discipline and encourage them to build a personal relationship with God, and live a Christian life.

–As the Fruitful Producer, Genesis 17:6 shares the example of how Abraham provided abundantly for his family and fathered the birth of many nations to include the Israelites, Ishmaelites, Midianites, Edomites and others. Through God all fathers are appointed and have the capability to be fruitful producers.

So here’s to all fathers—let us make our Heavenly Father proud by bringing up and leading our family and children in the ways of the Lord; admonishing and teaching them to fear, love and obey God! Amen!
