Be a Blessing to Others

Mar 13, 16 Be a Blessing to Others

Welcome guest Pastor Oh on today’s sermon.

There is power in words, which take form in thoughts and manifests into actions and consequences.

Do away with the bad practices and keep the good practices. One such example is not swearing/ cursing others during the Chinese New Year.

Be a blessing to others

This is very relevant to our Christian faith because what we say holds weight. There is power in words, which take form in thoughts and manifests into actions and consequences.

Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles!

And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.

For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God (James 3:6 – 3:9 NKJV)

The tongue of the righteous is choice silver;
The heart of the wicked is worth little. The lips of the righteous feed many,
But fools die for lack of wisdom. The blessing of the LORD makes one rich,
And He adds no sorrow with it (Proverbs 10:20 – 10:22 NKJV)

Water crystal experiment by Masaru Emoto:

Positive thoughts manifests to nice crystals in water molecules; negative thoughts cause the opposite

positive and negative thoughts manifests in nature

water crystals respond to thoughts

words are things

Hence therefore, be fully aware of what you speak. Speak with love, empowerment, hope and contentment.

So what do we do in order to receive and give these blessings?

1) Be a blessing unto others, even unto those who abuse you
not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. (1 Peter 3:9 NKJV)
2) Fear the Lord

Blessed is the one who fears the Lord, He is the One who blesses, and we, receive

Blessed is every one who fears the LORD,  Who walks in His ways. When you eat the labor of your hands,  You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you. Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine. In the very heart of your house,  Your children like olive plants.  All around your table. Behold, thus shall the man be blessed  Who fears the LORD (Psalm 128:1 – 128:4 NKJV)
3) Blessings for Obedience

Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country. “Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. “Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. “Blessed shall you be (Deuteronomy 28:3 – 28:6 NKJV)
He will bless the house of Aaron. He will bless those who fear the LORD,

Both small and great (Psalm 115:12 – 115:13 NKJV)

4) Ask & Receive with a thankful heart

Do not reject blessings like how one rejects offers to help others render etc.

Ask and accept The Lord’s blessings daily with a heart of gratitude.

And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. (John 1:16 NKJV)

For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; (1 Timothy 4:4 NKJV)
